If you’re considering on buying a Playstation 3 system, the short suggestion is: do it. Can there be a greater gaming system? Debatable, but probably not at the moment. Lots of things under the hood: easy for anyone to use, offering great graphics, sound and overall set of features, which, unfortunately, doesn’t include frying your bacon or cooling off your beverages (which, you should agree, would have been awesome!).
So what is it you exactly get if you decided to go ahead and buy a Playstation 3? Well, no hot girls and chevrolet camaro gts unfortunately, although it comes very close in the level of enjoyment. Playstation 3 is a real entertainment center, featuring a huge 160gb harddrive for your pictures, music, videos and games; wi-fi’s built in by default so you won’t have to trip and unnecessary wires and, of course, a blu-ray player provides you access to all those high quality adult movies from your personal collection! After all, it’s the future which is today. Massive amounts of data ranging from your favorite picture albums and music to the high definition movies and games stored on a single blu-ray disc, played straight from your Playstation 3, which you will worship : )
Every Playstation 3 console provides you a free PlayStation Network online service membership, which has a ton of entertaining features, allows you to purchase games online, download free videos and game demos, has it’s own virtual world and many more things that might make you forget of the world outside your house, and even eating, sleeping and other impotant needs : )
If you’re a fan of 3D then buy a PlayStation 3 and it’ll come in fully equipped and all set for you to enjoy that next level of realism from your favorite games. Just tune your eyes for that three dimensional image from the screen and voila: the next enemy grenade might be hitting right on your forehead.
So what is it PlayStation 3 is powered with?
While not exactly up to boring you with all the technical details I still thought I might get your some insight on what’s going to consume your oh so expensive energy. The core of the Playstation 3 system is an IBM processor codenamed “Cell” and an NVIDIA developed graphics system that in their combination allow a PlayStation system to perform trillions calculations per measly second. Compared to the older generations of PS3 this processor is built using 45nm technology, allowing it to consume less energy, which, in turn, saves you money for booze and other fun of this world! System features AV, composite and HDMIBuy a HDMI Cable at KMart connections, the standard set of the modern world, to deliver audio and video to your televisions, monitors or whatever else you might use being compatible up to 1080p resolution, which will make you believe as if what you’re seeing is actually looking good. Sound delivery is also keeping up with time and maybe even a little bit ahead, featuring DD 5.1, DTS 5.1 and even PCM 7.1 for the unparalleled (well, actually it is paralleled by any other gaming platform these days) sound.
Unlike older PS3 models, this 160GB one and it’s sisters (or brothers, whatever you prefer more) do not offer backwards compatibility to Playstation 2 games, PS1 games of your region (NA, EU or JP) will work just fine though. Also, backwards compatible models are out of production for a while now, and if you’re looking for one the best bet would be Ebay or a similar auction website.
When I get to compare PS3 to Xbox 360 or Wii… Well, first of all I have to state that personally, I feel Wii is just a different type of system, and you cannot really compare it to Xbox or PS. Everything about it is different, specs, game titles, capabilities, so I couldn’t choose between PS3 or Wii in my life, I’d take both. On the other hand, if I’d have to choose between PS3 and Xbox360, I’d buy a PS3. Of course, every second one of your friends probably has Xbox, but I’d be smarter than them. Japanese quality is a japanese quality, unrivaled and proven by years. Plus, the insane amount of great titles you’d never want to miss: MGS, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Final Fantasy… Do I really have to list it all?
Combine the above with the endless multimedia capabilities: internet, movies, pictures, music and you get a perfect entertainment system for you and your family, friends and even aliens if they ever visit our planet and decide to pay your home a visit (hopefully non-destructive).
